Who is Monopoly for?
The game is for 2 to 6 players aged 8 and over. This is the Dutch-language edition of Hasbro.
A brief overview of the rules of Monopoly Classic
Aim of the game
Buy streets, build houses and hotels, and be the only one left standing whilst the others go bust.
How to play
- Roll two dice and move forwards. If you pass Start, you get 200.
- If you come across a vacant street, station or utility company, you are allowed to buy it. If you do not, it will be put up for auction.
- You pay rent on someone else’s property.
- If you have all the streets of one colour, you can build houses and then hotels on them: the rent goes up significantly.
If you roll doubles, you get another go. Three doubles in a row: off to prison.
End and win
If you can’t pay any more, you go bankrupt and are out of the game. The last player remaining wins.
