A brief overview of the rules of Koehandel 40 Jaar
Aim of the game
You can score the most points by collecting complete sets of four animals.
How to play
On your turn, you choose:
- Auction: Turn over an animal card. The other players bid with money. As the auctioneer, you may also buy the animal yourself for the highest bid, which you then pay to that bidder.
- Cattle Trade: challenge another player to a bid for an animal that you both have. You bid using money cards, face down. Whoever bids the highest gets the animals, and the other player gets the money.
If a donkey turns out to be the odd one out, everyone gets some extra money.
End and win
Once all the sets of four have been dealt out, add up the value of your sets and multiply that by the number of sets you have. The highest score wins.
